2010 was another exciting year for Team MJV.

A special thanks goes out to all Team Members for allowing our organization the opportunity to provide healthy cleaning services and project solutions to our strong customer base. Although we experienced some bumps and bruises from a few customers that required serious service and price reductions due to the economic uncertainties of their business, our Team was able to fight hard and have our strongest year ever!

Similar to 2009, our continued commitment to improving the company culture through Team Member programs and activities was very rewarding. Some highlights of 2010 include:

1. Team Member Appreciation Picnic

2. Updated website – www.teammjv.com

3. Social Media Opportunities through our Facebook Page www.facebook.com/TeamMJV

4. Strengthening of our Project Solutions, Power Sweeping and Painting Division.

5. Renewal of GS-42 Green Seal Certification – Team MJV was Indiana’s first certified building service contractor.

6. Our Operations Team opened up 24 new accounts in one week throughout northern Indiana. This was a challenging and painful task but our Team planned for it very well and made it a success.

7. Addition of more Operational of Office Staff to support the company growth.

8. Addition of a third outside sales professional and inside sales position to generate immediate growth – telemarketing Team added to help generate new revenues.

9. A solid acquisition in Southwest Michigan which included the addition of 135 Team Members and over 70 customers. This was our first venture into the Michigan market.

Team MJV had a very successful 2010 and we are looking forward to a very exciting 2011. It’s already off to a fast start!

Just thought we would pass on a new item we saw being installed at a building we are doing construction clean-up. There are mixed emotions about hand dryers versus paper towels in regards to sustainability and the janitorial service requirements. Is it “greener” or more environmental friendly to utilize the electricity for hand dryers OR put paper into landfills?

There is no paper towel holder and only the TOTO Hand Dryer.

What we like about it is how well they designed it to prevent water from being splashed on the wall while drying and it didn’t look bad. There is a tray under the unit that you can pull and dump excess water.

They don’t say it below but under specification it said it produce air at a rate of 224 “MPH” WOW! Not sure if it is heated air.

Here is what the Excel XL Hand dryer had to say about there unit. They cost about $500

Combination Motor and Blower: Series commutated, through-flow discharge, vacuum type; 5/8 HP, 20,000 RPM. Air flow rate: 19,000 linear feet per minute (97 meters per second) at air outlet, 16,000 linear feet per minute (81 meters per second) at average hand position of 4 inches (102 mm) below air outlet.

Heater: Nichrome wire element, mounted inside blower housing to be vandal proof.

Heater Safeguard: Automatic resetting thermostat to open when air flow is restricted and close when air flow is resumed.

Air Temperature: 135 degrees F (55 degrees C) measured at average hand position of 4 inches (102 mm) below air outlet. Air Heater Output: 900 watts.
